Intro to Stone Lithography

This is a 2-session workshop. August 1st & 2nd 11:00am-5:00pm Students in this class will learn the entire process of stone lithography , a centuries-old printmaking medium in which an image is drawn on and printed from a limestone The lesson begins with a demo on how to grain a limestone to prepare it for drawing. After drawing, students will be guided through the process of chemically etching their stone. Then, students will learn how to ink their stone and operate a litho press to print an edition.
