State of the City

February 2026

The monthly events report from Our Philly

BillieBillie, PeopleSingling/Mingling - Hi!

The Big Picture

1,400+ events across 55 neighborhoods. Lust was the Sin as Philly’s heavy-metal drag season kicked off at T-Mom’s. AI-powered....relationships? Me please! John led a Mardi Gras parade along Chestnut to Broad and the Roller Circus rolled around a brewery. Valentine’s dominated: a 2-hour kiss-film festival? Mhm, yup, only at PhilaMOCA’s Mausoleum Makeout! Dumpling workshops, girl scout cookies, blizzard! Let’s take a look at February in the city, weeeeeee!

What People Viewed Most

Doth yee know the muffin man? I have never met him, and would like to! Our readers gathered hot around the heart-fueled fire last month as Valentine’s ruled February. I myself put best foot forward at Billie’s above-mentioned AI-matchmaking session. The superintelligence proved useless, and the evening ended quietly, with no future plans.

Events by Category

Jazz quartets, orchestras, no-cover open mics....February was my first ‘karaoke’ experience....new to the States and ‘fitting in’....I was boo’d loudly by a man and handled it, and was afterwards received warmly. This city is hard but so too was home and so I do feel myself here.

Hottest Areas

At a family party not long ago (a while, but it bothers me so feels recent), a cousin from the suburbs complained of ‘human poop in Center City’ during a recent visit, and I just thought that was so unfair, because yes but there are so many great events.

Top Hosts by Volume

I attended the Museum of Art’s Friday Night Lounge to make friends, and did. The conversation was small until she mentioned her interest in children’s literature, a dear topic of mine that led to hot debate and a considerable bar crawl.

Workshops

I noticed the Pillow Talk activity was high, so went, a date. I am pleased with the design I brought home, and feel empowered to use an old pillow case to clean the ceiling fan, which previously I did not want to do.

Recurring Bar Programming

There is a woman at Jaxx Bingo who cheats. I hope that she sees this and sees my face, too. I will be back next week.

Where We Need More Coverage

The goal is to index every event in the city. We’re doing a poor job capturing the below (and more) neighborhoods, and should spend more time in March improving each.

Tip Us Off

We can’t possibly list every event alone. Message us - what’s missing (bingo night every week near you?), what’s wrong, what could be better? Or just write us an e-mail explaining what you’re looking for, and we’ll tell you everything we know.

This is the first monthly State of the City events report from Our Philly. We aggregate 300–600 events per week from 1,000+ sources across Philadelphia.
