In the tradition of comedians who have made the transition from the stage to the screen, such as Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby, multi-talented Guy Torry has made the leap to comedic actor with great success. Guy has been seen on BET’s “Comic View,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” “Showtime at the Apollo” and “Russell Simmons: Def Comedy Jam” where he made his stand up debut to a national audience. Guy also hosted the enormously successful 52 city comedy tour The Kings of Comedy, which grossed over $37M. He created a unique concept called Phat Comedy Tuesdays which was a weekly showcase for up and coming comedians. This evolved into a weekly spotlight at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip entitled The Guy Torry Show where Guy hosts and produces a comedy showcase featuring an improv comedy troupe. This event was regularly attended by the comedy A-List including Eddie Murphy, Chris Tucker and Chris Rock. After beginning his career in the Berkshires, he spent several years in Portland, OR before moving to Austin, TX where he's quickly become one of the best comedians in the hottest comedy scene in the country. Dylan's been featured in multiple festivals including the Mass Moca Comedy Festival, the Moontower Comedy Festival and he was one of the new comics presented by Netflix is a Joke in their "Featuring..." showcase in 2024. Dylan also hosts the podcast, SOME OF THIS IS BAD, w/ comedian Colton Dowling. Special Event: Aaron Weber
Aaron Weber is a standup comedian based in Nashville, TN and is a regular performer at the world famous Grand Ole Opry. He made his debut in 2019 at the age of twenty-eight, making him the youngest standup comedian ever to step into the Opry circle. Later that year, he made his television debut on the Opry’s Circle Network, hosting two episodes of Stand Up Nashville. You can catch Aaron on The Nateland Podcast with Nate Bargatze and Brian Bates, on which the three Nashville-based comedians tackle important world issues like animals, calendars, and Rhode Island. Helium Presents: Stand-up 101 Graduation Showcase
The Helium Comedy Academy is an ongoing monthly class which focuses on developing and honing a range of skills in various comedic disciplines including stand-up, improv, and sketch. Our philosophy in teaching comedy is understanding that training is essential. It's a craft similar and not unlike any dance, theatre or vocal program. There's a foundation that can be learned which will expedite one's success. Ongoing workshops are for everyone. Beginner to advanced.
