Our Philly is a calendar of everything happening in the city. Here’s how your events get on it, what we do, what you can do, and how to reach us.
Event coverage
I have regular programming.
We pull your events from your website. We monitor a few hundred Philadelphia websites and neatly organize what they list onto the calendar each week. If your events are on your site, there’s nothing you need to do.
Not seeing your venue? Tell us the page where your events live and we’ll add it to the rotation.
My programming is irregular.
We monitor social media and add events by hand, and we’ll admit it: we miss these frequently.
You can add recurring events yourself — every Third Thursday, Second Sunday, every Wednesday, anything like that. Click Post Event at the top of any page and choose Recurring. It takes about a minute.
One honest caveat: recurring events get cancelled often (the karaoke guy can’t make it, and so on), and Our Philly won’t know. So every recurring event page carries a notice asking people to verify with the venue before going.
Discovery and distribution
How do people use Our Philly?
The huge majority come to find something to do now and soon, and to make weekend plans. Events that are happening today or this weekend get the most attention.
What's included in the newsletter and Reddit posts?
Every community submission, plus roughly 100 selections from the calendar. The mix varies week to week.
What's in the daily email?
Any upcoming event a reader has saved, plus every event happening that day in a neighborhood they subscribe to.
