Storytelling Through Nature: Linocut Workshop

Storytelling Through Nature is an introduction to carving and hand-printing speedy carve linoleum blocks on delicate Thai unryu paper. With the guidance of instructor Hui-yi Kuo , the class will view examples of relief prints and discuss how to create a compelling visual narrative using natural elements. Students will learn how to transfer their drawing onto their block, use linocutting tools safely, and carve their design. When their blocks are carved, students will be guided through the process of inking and hand-printing them on a variety of colored Thai papers. All participants will leave with a varied edition of linocut prints and a strong understanding of the medium.
