Learn the basics of two-color Risograph printing on a small scale and make Riso-printed buttons! About this event Come learn the basics of two-color Risograph printing on a small scale and make Riso-printed buttons in this fun class! You'll use collage and drawing materials on a template to draft a one or two-color one-inch button. Then, you'll print your composition using the scanner bed of our beloved Risograph machine, Theresa! Finally, you'll use a button-maker to put it all together. Working on a small, circular scale allows you to engage with composition in a new way, and brings attention to details of opacity, texture, and color layering. Make a wearable piece of art or propaganda while learning the basics of Riso! Please note: Masking is now encouraged, but optional in the studio space. Individuals who feel uncomfortable using the space with others unmasked, whether for health or any other reason, are welcome to request mask-wearing while using the studio space. About the Instructor Basil (Gi) Lee (they/them) is a Riso printer, poet, and librarian.
