The Risographed Word will explore the use of Riso printing in the creative presentation and reproduction of writing. The instructor will guide students through a generative writing exercise. Students will draw from the results to create a visual composition using techniques like collage and black-out poetry. The group will print their projects on the Risograph, gaining an understanding of the machine along the way. All workshop materials are provided. What’s Riso? Like a screen print, color layers are printed one at a time through a stencil—but with the speed and automation of a copy machine! Riso printing is known for its signature grainy texture and bright, transparent inks.
