Italian conductor Daniele Rustioni is on top of the world. Newly installed as principal guest conductor of the Metropolitan Opera and in demand by American orchestras, he told The New York Times , “I have the impression these are going to be the best years of my life.” In this concert Rustioni finds the emotional heart of Dvořák’s Cello Concerto and mines the many gifts of the Orchestra in Arnold Schoenberg’s spectacular orchestration of Brahms’s First Piano Quartet.
