Experience the world's premier big band, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by artistic director, trumpeter extraordinaire, and nine-time Grammy Award ® -winner Wynton Marsalis, in a swinging celebration of the genius of Duke Ellington. Featuring over a dozen of today's finest jazz soloists and ensemble players, the group plays a vast repetoire of music, from historic and rare compositions, including works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams and Charles Mingus, to new music from the group's unrivalled collection of world-renowned composers and arrangers. From swinging rhythms to soulful melodies, every performance is a celebration of the spirit of jazz and its enduring influence. The Chicago Tribune describes the exhilarating force of the band in concert: "The orchestra [tore] through this music as if chasing the wind. Only a group of musicians who have toured together for so long...could have attained this kind of synchronicity."
